Living Beyond Your Feelings

Wednesday, October 18th, 2017

Living beyond my feelings contributes to my wellbeing, mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually.  They all are key to a happy and healthy life.

Have you ever had several things to do, and they are all things you enjoy doing but can’t seem to get excited to do them?  Do your emotions play a roll in this?  Do your feelings contribute to it?  Does your personality have something to do with it? My guess would be yes to all three.

This is just one thought regarding how we manage to stay on task, accomplish our goals or stay focused for a certain amount of time to work on one project. To stay connected, and moving forward with peace and joy.

EMOTIONS are driven by many factors, it could be hormonal changes, stress, grief, illness, sadness, injury, loss, many more I’m sure I could come up with, but to name a few.

FEELINGS are those things I believe are driven by our thinking processes. If we think the right thoughts, encouraging, life breathing thoughts, healthy thoughts, I am convinced we can manage our feelings.  We may need help doing this.  Books are a great resource for us.

Personality https://hubpages.com/health/wheredoesourpersonalitycomefrom   Our personality is who we are.  We can love ourselves right where we are.  We can have hope and faith in our future.  We may have areas of our personalities that we would like to change.  Many of our personality traits can be influenced by hormonal changes. Chemicals in the brain, DNA, and they’ve even seen how personality types may have different size parts of the brain.

In my opinion if we decide we want change that is a first step. A desire to change can ignite that excitement that we need to  accomplish it.  Maybe not over night, maybe one step at a time but through a desire to want change and having the correct natural healthy behaviors to feed this decision I believe we can do whatever we desire to do.

Natural ways to accomplish better health, mentally and emotionally I’ve seen personally.  Because I am a woman.  As women we have many hormonal changes all through life.  Puberty, PMS, menstruating, perhaps having one or more miscarriages, I had one, infertility, pregnancy, and after delivering that wonderful new life, many women experience postpartum depression, or postpartum anxiety.  As we age we experience peri-menopause, this could go on for years before menopause. Then there is post-menopause.  With each of these could come a myriad of symptoms.

I have seen emotional aromatherapy work day after day.  The science behind how and why these aromatic compounds work is fascinating.  I am not a chemistry major so I won’t go into detail here.  But the science is available and it is thrilling that through a natural source we can get relief, rejuvenated, refocused, reformed, and renew our lives to feel better and be better acclimated to a new and better life.

This way of living is not a one time deal.  Just as we eat during the day, we need to apply our aromatherapy to ourselves, and diffuse them in our environments.  I believe ingesting these beautiful plant based essential oil compounds are essential to my wellbeing.  Those that are certified to be pure and of a therapeutic grade and have a Supplement Facts on them, these are the only ones I  recommended for ingestion.  These types of essential oils can also further our goal for living healthier and more balanced.  We can move beyond those feelings and can get on to what we really have a passion for.

I keep all of my essential oils handy throughout my day. I put a couple of drops of the Balance Blend on my feet when I arise.  The ingestible ones I use as I would my food supplements.  For instance in the morning, I ingest lemon in 8 oz of water, I also try to do this 3 more times during the day.  I take 2-3 drops of Frankincense on my tongue, later in the morning I ingest 2 drops of Copaiba.  I like the Slim and Sassy Blend as a metabolism booster and to take away sugar cravings.

Depending on how I feel, I use my emotional aromatherapy, I pick which essential oil I want.  If I need a bit more peace, joy and confidence in myself  I use the Jasmine Touch. If I’m having feelings of boredom or disinterest I use the Passion Touch blend.

  • Because Jasmine has such an uplifting scent, using Jasmine Touch on our pulse points is the perfect way to uplift mood. Emotionally, Jasmine promotes feelings of joy, peace, and self-confidence. Applying Jasmine in the morning will help provide a positive outlook on the day and leave you feeling uplifted and confident.
  • When feelings of boredom and disinterest take over, Passion Touch blend will help to rekindle feelings of excitement, passion and joy.

I diffuse essential oils for an immune boost, air freshener or a pick me up or all three in different rooms.  If you are looking for more of a blend for better focus, I suggest the Focus Blend it helps to enhance the senses and sustain focus, this blend is perfect for staying on task when you are trying to study, or concentrate on a project.   I use essential oils in my shower routine.  I have a diffuser by my bed and I diffuse the Grounding Blend, 4-5 drops and it runs for 8 hours. My favorite is the Grounding Blend, this blend of essential oils promotes tranquility while bringing harmony to the mind and body, and balance to the emotions.  I use Lemon or the Protective Blend essential oils in the kitchen for cleaning fruits, veggies and any containers that come in from the store before I open them, and I use some in cooking.  These precious gifts of the earth have added so much to my life for the past 13 years that I wouldn’t want to go a day without them, and I don’t.

I believe it is imperative to strive to have a healthy mind and body.  Even though we go through many emotional imbalances through life we can bring that back in balance with aromatherapy.

Promoting Wellness Through Nature

Thursday, May 12th, 2011

Promoting Wellness Through Nature is a trademark of the OilMD, James L. Geiger MD .

Promoting “Essential Oils” for Healthy Aging is a passion of mine.

I use essential oils everyday, and frequently throughout my day for personal use and then at home I put essential oils in diffusers.

Essential oils are perfect to use as a mood booster, and they supply your home with wonderful smells as well as protection from airborne viruses and bacteria.

The benefits of essential oils in the home are fantastic if you want to live “green” it’s another avenue to stay healthy and reap the results for your entire family.

“Essential Oils” have so many healthful benefits.

I have been complimented many times for the calming, refreshing, mood boosting and aromatic atmosphere that I have in my home from the uses of essential oils.

At the top of my list to stay balanced throughout my day is the “Well Balanced Lady”  It will definitely lift you up and if you are experiencing PMS, Peri-Menopause, or Post Menopause it will help keep you feeling refreshed.

In February 2011 I wrote two blog posts on essential oils, Jasmine for Women and Essential Oils for Women and Men.  They are educating and inspiring.

We are aging, no one is immune from the aging process…so the phrase Anti-Aging really isn’t true in my opinion. The phrase “Healthy Aging”  I heard many years ago from Dr. Andrew Weil, so now I use it.

Healthy Aging makes perfect sense to me and the way we do it, is by taking care of ourselves on a daily basis. Of course there are many aspects to healthy aging.  A couple of the ones that come to mind are a positive attitude, exercise, healthy eating and the use of essential oils.

I would like to continue to show you the benefits of one of my favorite essential oils, ” Sandalwood” and its uses.

If you’re going to use essential oils use them throughout your day to get the full range of their benefits.

The Essential Oil of Sandalwood is extracted through steam distillation of pieces of wood from matured Sandal trees which are 40-80 years old (ideally it should be 80 years).

The OilMD’s “Well Balanced Lady” has sandalwood in it.  This is why I love it so much.

Organic Facts shows the capabilities of this unique essential oil.

carminativeis/ a herb or preparation that prevents formation of gas in the gastrointestinal tract.  diuretic/diuretics increase the excretion of water from the body, although each class does so in a distinct way.  disinfectant/ substance that is applied to non-living objects to destroy microorganisms that are living on the objects.  emollient/soothing to the skin expectorant/drains mucus from the lungs hypotensive/helps lower blood pressure.  memory booster/boosts memory.  sedative/ reduces irritability and excitement. tonic/An invigorating, refreshing, or restorative agent

I encourage you to stay on your quest for Healthy Aging.

The Benefits of Jasmine Essential Oil for Women

Wednesday, February 2nd, 2011

Here’s the perfect gift for your lady any time of year.

Learning about the essential oil of Jasmine may be the perfect gift for your loved one.

The Well Balanced Lady with its wonderful qualities for women has in it the essential oil of Jasmine along with other unique oils from the oilMD.

The Well Balanced Lady will relieve you of your hot flashes and it offers along with that a feeling of all over balance when used throughout your day.

Let me tell you the benefits of Jasmine as talked about in Organic Facts.

“The health benefits of Jasmine Essential Oil can be attributed to its properties like anti depressant, anti septic, aphrodisiac, anti spasmodic, cicatrisant, expectorant, galactogogue, emenagogue, parturient, sedative and uterine.”

Each of these benefits from Jasmine suit women perfectly because as women we want to take care of ourselves and our families, the benefits of this essential alone can contribute to keeping our families healthy, as much as healthy eating, and exercise.

Let me begin describing the benefits of Jasmine:

Aphrodisiac

Anti depressant

Anti spasmodic/asthma symptoms

Calms your body from the stress of daily living

Sedative

Facilitates and eases birth/ reduces labor pains

Lactating mothers benefit by it’s ability to increase milk production

Relieves pain from menses

Peri-Menopause and Menopause

Uterine Health

Dry skin treatment

Helps you sleep better

Cold relief by helping as an expectorant, it reduces phlegm in the nasal and respiratory tracts.

Scars from acne or wounds, it helps fade of them

Antiseptic & disinfectant, it has bactericidal, viral, germicidal, and fungicidal properties.

Just imagine all these wonderful benefits from the essential oil of Jasmine, as Dr Geiger mentions in his book “The Sweet Smell of Success” essential oils promote wellness through nature.

Essential oils diluted with jojoba oil in 10% solution of essential oils are great used as a perfume or mixed with a quality body lotion.  Uses for essential oils in your home range from cleaning with antibacterial oils to a romantic massage.

***Spring is here and summer is just around the corner.  Try making large pots of Jasmine Green Tea.  Let the water boil then add in one tea bag per cup. Turn water off put lid on pot, steep.  Let the tea cool to room temperature before putting it into small containers, then refrigerate.  Add lime or lemon.  These two teas are so good together plus nutritious, delicious,  and a cool and refreshing drink.

I use a 4 qt or 8 qt pot and add both green tea and jasmine tea. This is also an excellent way to have antioxidant protection along with all the wonderful benefits of jasmine.

Aromatherapy Enhances Women’s Health

Monday, January 24th, 2011

“Aromatherapy is an aid to general health and beauty, which enhances personal preventative healthcare. Safe practical choices in clinical aromatherapy with essential oils from plants can be extrapolated from evidenced based clinical references which may be integrated into the management of various common symptoms and conditions. For individuals with pre-existing medical conditions, great care must be taken to evaluate and determine which oils are appropriate and how to administer them. Both complementary alternative medicine and allopathic medicine are making advances towards integration of therapies with oils.” Dr. James L Geiger, the oilMD.

I want to talk specifically about the essential oil blend “Well Balanced Lady”

All women starting during puberty can support their lives with “Well Balanced Lady” essential oil blend.

The blend of these oils works through the receptors in the brain to relieve symptoms brought on by PMS, peri menopause, menopause and post menopause.

Using plant based oils through out your day instead of perfume is one way that many women stay smelling fresh and support their bodies to be free from the bothering symptoms we try and ignore but can’t throughout our lives.

Frequent use is the key….
